RUIN KLARITY

Ruin Klarity is a Paris-based trans non-binary multidisciplinary artist, massage therapist, former sex worker, and sex work activist. Their practice spans performance, writing, weaving, and bodywork, informed by Butoh, somatics, and death work. Through storytelling rooted in ritual, voice, and movement, they explore themes of grief, transformation, care, recovery, and sacredness. As a community organiser, they have co-founded multiple Berlin-based collectives advocating for sex workers’ rights, harm reduction, and queer self-organisation.

Night Terror; Stuck & Holding On, 2026, Loom/frame, wool, cotton threads, wood and nails

Originating as a text written during the COVID-19 pandemic in Berlin, this work addresses police violence, criminalisation, stigma, and solidarity within sex work communities. It is held within a frame constructed from salvaged wood taken from a former chicken-laying shelter, carrying histories of use and labour — and later, neglect. The frame also functions as a loom, an ancient practice of survival labour in which knowledge is passed hand to hand, mirroring how sex work sustains itself through shared strategies and solidarity. Stuck and Holding On speaks to the threads that hold systems together under pressure: connecting, stabilising, and sustaining structures while simultaneously being immobilised and worn down by them. Accompanying the work is a sound piece played on cassette, written and spoken/sung by Ruin Klarity and produced by D Tiffany.
