LOVE & DEATH TAXIDERMY
Love & Death Taxidermy is an artist based in Shepherds Bush, working as a taxidermist and dominatrix. Their sex work practice is shaped by over ten years of experience across a wide range of sex-work roles, beginning in London before training as a dominatrix in Zurich. Their art explores themes of beauty, intimacy, vulnerability, and control, blending traditional craft with lived experience and examining the relationships between power, care, and the body.

The Beauty of Transience, 2024, Taxidermy dove, mixed media
A single taxidermy dove, adorned through an original, labour-intensive process developed by the artist. Intricate imagery is embedded into its feathers, transforming a traditional symbol of peace, devotion, and purity into an object of deliberate artifice. The dove becomes both precious and transactional, an offering shaped by care, labour, and desire. The work reflects on love as something preserved, embellished, and ultimately exchanged, questioning how intimacy and sentiment are aestheticised, consumed, and valued within systems where even tenderness can become a commodity.
