FINN DARRELL
Finn Darrell is a multidisciplinary artist based in Bristol, working across filmmaking, photography, performance art, and stained glass. Their work explores themes of gender, sexuality, ritual, rebirth, magic, and folklore. Finn’s photographic practice sits close to documentary. Their images emphasise presence, approaching the capturing of moments of intimacy with attentiveness and restraint. “I started doing full-service sex work when I was 21 and have continued working in this industry for the last five years, recently moving into more fetish-oriented work. As an artist, I find this job allows me the flexibility and time I need to really focus on my practice and my own health and growth as a human being.”

Maxwell, 2023, 35mm photograph
The regal pose of Maxwell in this image nods to traditions of classical portraiture, subverting a familiar visual language to explore the quiet beauty of kink within a contemporary context. The blindfold redirects attention away from the act of seeing and toward the condition of being seen, shifting how power and vulnerability are understood. Power is articulated through stillness rather than action, reframing kink as a site of dignity, sensitivity, and introspection, rather than spectacle.
