DIGITAL.PUTA

Digital.puta is a sex worker and photographer from the Bronx, New York, passionate about capturing the raw beauty and unspoken stories of nightlife and the sex work industry. Their journey into photography began with a desire to document the real, often overlooked aspects of this world, foregrounding its humanity, strength, and vulnerability. Through their lens, they highlight the multifaceted lives of sex workers, offering a candid view of both the glamour and the struggles behind the scenes. What began as a personal project to look back on intimate moments has since grown into an Instagram platform, inviting others to see sex work for what it truly is: complex, diverse, and full of depth.

I know this room by heart, 2022-2025, 35mm Photograph

“My work captures the quiet, human experience behind the stage, where performances give way to preparation, rest, and reflection.”

Set within the dressing room of a strip club, the images linger on gestures of care and pause - adjusting hair, sharing space, waiting between stage sets. These in-between moments reveal labour not as spectacle, but as lived experience. By centring intimacy, routine, and the bonds formed between dancers, the work invites viewers to recognise familiarity within these spaces, aligning with the exhibition’s focus on visibility, labour, and the tender realities that exist beyond what is seen on stage.
